Tim & Paul – Gibraltar Hotel, Bowral NSW
Tim and Paul’s was the first time I’d shot a same sex wedding. I’m truly grateful that they trusted me to capture their day because I loved it. I loved the energy of the day, I loved that Paul, Tim, their son and their grooms-maids all got ready together and I loved how flirty the wedding party was all day.
Paul and Tim decided to have the location shoot before the ceremony and they also went all out with coloured smoke and TEN confetti cannons, hell. yeah. They were sure to let me know that they were “not photo-people” but after a couple of games and questions about each other, their true colours came out (there’s no such thing as “not photo-people”).
Unfortunately, their out-door ceremony plans were rained out but luckily Gibraltar’s indoor ceremony room was just as lovely. Tim and Paul walked each other down the aisle and the love in the room was seen all over their families faces. The three of us snuck away after that to catch some of the afternoon light before heading in for dinner. My favourite photo of the day was towards the end of the night when a friend knocked Paul’s red wine out of his hand on the dance floor and I snapped the photo as the glass flew back towards Paul. He took it like a champ.
